Description of project and services rendered
The objectives of the project are to revise the National Technician
Program (NATech), introduce licentiate qualifications and develop
effective systems for members and students' records and examination
process.
Scope of Services:
1. Revise NATech Curriculum:
- Revise the existing syllabus
- Compare the syllabus with those of similar international bodies
- Consult stakeholders in liaisons with ZICA - Produce pilot
examination papers
- Revise study examination papers
- Revise study texts
2. Develop new computer program and computer filing system:
- Review current program
- Identify deficiencies
- Identify institutions with more efficient/effective system
- Identify reputable firms/individuals
- Develop and implement the program
- Train users
3. Study to review accountancy human resources needs:
- Identify the firm/individual to undertake the study
- Present a report on the study
4. Develop licentiate qualification:
- Organize consultation with stakeholders and tuition providers
- Identify examiners, markers and moderators
- Supervise preparation of syllabus
- Present proposed syllabus to Education Committee and Stakeholders
- Inform tuition providers and prospective students of the proposed
scheme
- Supervise preparation of Pilot papers and Suggested solutions
- Present proposed syllabus to Education Committee for approval
- Identify authors for the study materials
- Oversee first licentiate examination
Output:
- Revised NATech syllabus
- An integrated student and membership information system
- Staff who are adequately exposed and trained
- Identified training needs
- Local licentiate examinations and qualifications in place
