Description of project and services rendered

The objective of the assignment is to guide Caves of Barbados Ltd. in operating efficiently and in a financially sustainable manner by producing in collaboration with CBL's management and Board of Directors a detailed Business Plan for CBL's future operations.

The services provided included the following elements:

• Consult, liaise and work closely with the management and staff of CBL;
• Review all relevant documentation and technical data;
• Visit the project site to obtain and assess the information required;
• Undertake an analysis of the current situation in terms of the companie's organization and performance against the sector's background;
• Review the company's framework, management and staffing expertise, financing resources and performance, product/service quality, and competitiveness;
• Identify the issues, constraints, strengths and weaknesses (internal factors), prospects, opportunities and threats to financial sustainability, obstacles to improvement of visitor experience and impediments to increasing visitor flows to Harrison's Cave;
• Carry out a detailed market and competition analysis;
• Review CBL's marketing strategy and marketing plan to assess their adequacy and the company's implementation capacity;
• Develop CBL's new Marketing Plan
• Review CBL's capital structure and financial needs and assess its soundness in terms of its debt burden and ability to repay;
• Establish the financial parameters that CBL must achieve to be financially self sustaining;
• Formulate a detailed business plan for CBL's future operations.
